Notification Settings
The Notification Settings page is accessible only to users with the Administrator or HR role.
The HRMS sends in-app notifications for all workflow events automatically. Email notifications are optional and controlled from this page. You can configure which event types trigger an email, and through which channels.
Accessing Notification Settings
Click Notification Settings in the sidebar.
How Notifications Work
Every significant workflow event — such as an employee submitting a self-assessment, a manager completing a review, or HR approving a probation — generates an in-app notification for the relevant user. This happens automatically and cannot be disabled.
Email notifications are an additional layer. When enabled for an event type, an email is sent to the relevant recipient at the same time as the in-app notification.
Configuring Email Notifications
The settings page lists all configurable notification event types, grouped by module. For each event, you can toggle whether an email is sent.

Tips
- Enable email notifications for events where a delay in action has a significant downstream impact — for example, "Self-assessment submitted" (to prompt the manager to begin their review promptly).
- If your organisation uses a separate internal communication tool (e.g., Teams or Slack), you may prefer to keep email notifications minimal and rely on in-app notifications to reduce inbox noise.
- Email notifications always include a direct link back to the relevant item in the system, so recipients can act immediately from their inbox.
